Denver Engagement Photos – Stylish Cocktail Bar

Denver Engagement Session

We were really excited to photography to join Kate and Taylor for their Denver engagement photos at Golden Hour Wine and Social Club for an intimate session in the heart of the city!

This bar is a new spot, which recently opened up in the Highland neighborhood. The soft, diffused light filtered through the windows, casting a warm glow that complimented these two perfectly. We took some candid photos as they share a cocktail in pink coupe glasses. The elegant décor, with its stylish furnishings and chic lighting, adds a touch of modern elegance to the photos. Since these two are getting married in at Della Terra Mountain Chateau in Estes Park in September, they were looking looking to create unique and elegant engagement experience for some fun and different photos. They loved the idea (and environment) of this new chic cocktail bar in Denver, and so did we!

Engagement sessions are more than just a time to take photos—they’re an opportunity for us to connect with our couples and get to know them in a way that makes the wedding day feel even more natural. Spending time together in a relaxed setting like this allows us to see how they interact, what makes them laugh, and how they’re most comfortable in front of the camera. It also gives them a chance to see our approach in action, helping to build trust and ease before their wedding day. With these two, it was easy. They were completely themselves, enjoying the atmosphere and conversation as we documented their engagement in a way that felt authentic to them.

Golden Hour Wine and Social Club provided a unique opportunity to play with light and composition in a way that’s different from outdoor sessions. The soft glow from the bar’s pendant lights, reflections from the glassware, and ambient lighting throughout the space gave us layers to work with, adding depth and interest to the images. We were able to experiment with framing shots through glass, incorporating backlighting for more dynamic portraits, and highlighting the contrast between the warm interior and the cool evening light outside.

After finishing up inside, we stepped out into the city streets for the final part of their session. With Denver’s skyline in the background, we captured a few last portraits that balanced the intimacy of the bar with the energy of the city that was bustling with energy on a beautiful spring afternoon in May!
