We celebrated Katie & Nick’s wedding at the The Barn at Raccoon Creek last August and are so excited to finally share the photos from their dreamy summer wedding. When it comes to Colorado wedding venues, there is something undeniably charming about rustic barn weddings. Katie and Nick’s wedding at the Barn at Raccoon Creek in Littleton, Colorado, was no exception. We were so grateful to join them for this special day! It is such an honor to be chosen to photograph such an important day for our couples, and as we edited through these photos, we’re reminded how special all of these intimate moments are.
Their wedding day began at the Barn of Raccoon Creek in the bustling bridal suite, where Katie and her bridesmaids steamed their dresses and were treated to hair and make-up. Amidst the excitement and anticipation, Katie took a moment to slow down and share a special moment with her mom, Tracey. After her mom helped her into her wedding gown, they embraced and reflected on the day ahead. Katie & Nick’s wedding day also marked her late sister’s birthday, and they paid tribute to her in many special ways. The emotions were palpable, and everyone certainly wished her sister could have been there to celebrate this momentous occasion, holding her close to their hearts.
Nick and the groomsmen were hanging out and playing corn hole before heading to the venue. They took care of some last-minute wedding preparations in the reception hall of the Barn at Raccoon Creek, and played a game of foosball before first look.
Katie & Nick shared their first look outside the bridal suite. It was a private moment that allowed them to savor the joy before the whirlwind of the day began. Standing silently nearby, Katie’s mom, Tracey, couldn’t help but smile, as she watched the newlyweds embrace. We took some portraits of Katie & Nick by the barn before we linked up with the wedding party and family for formal photos.
Clouds rolled in as the ceremony began and their relative officiated, adding a personal touch to this special day. One of Katie’s bridesmaids read a touching passage in honor of her late sister, Caroline, bringing tears to the eyes of everyone present. Katie and Nick also shared their own heartfelt vows, filled with laughter and tears, leaving their guests truly moved.
The newlyweds were welcomed by a roaring crowd, eager to celebrate them as they went right into their first dance. Katie’s mom, Tracey, gave a warm welcome speech, expressing her gratitude and love for everyone in attendance. Family and friends toasted the newlyweds with heartfelt and funny speeches, capturing the essence of their relationship and filling the room with laughter and tears. After speeches, we grabbed Katie and Nick for some golden hour photos by the pond!
When we returned to the Barn at Raccoon Creek, everyone meandered over to the pavilion for parent dances. Shortly afterward, the DJ kicked off open dancing and guests showed off their best moves. One moment in particular that stood out was when the song, “Sweet Caroline” by Neil Diamond played, everyone gathered together to belt the lyrics in honor of Katie’s late sister, Caroline, unifying the dance floor.
Katie and Nick are some of the sweetest people you’ll meet and they radiated so much love for both each other and their loved ones in a way that was felt by all. Congratulations guys, we couldn’t be happier for you!
