WINTER PARK, CO
We were excited to reconnect with Sam and Eian for their stunning Winter Park elopement this past August. We had last met them for their engagement session about a year ago at the Garden of the Gods and Glen Eyrie Castle. These two traveled all the way from Iowa to celebrate with a small group of their closest family and friends to share their vows with top of the world views at Explorer Express Overlook.
Elopements have become a popular choice for couples who are looking for a more intimate and personalized wedding experience. Elopements provide couples with a more relaxed and stress-free atmosphere, allowing them to fully enjoy their special day without worrying about the details and logistics of a large wedding. They offer couples a unique and memorable experience that can be tailored to their preferences and personalities, making it a great choice for those who want to celebrate their love in a more intimate way.
The resort’s sprawling gardens and mountains were a sight to behold. Winter Park Resort in Colorado is a stunning destination to visit in the summer. With its gorgeous mountain scenery and lush greenery, it’s the perfect place for outdoor adventures like hiking and mountain biking.
Sam’s mother helped her into her wedding gown in the hotel room while Eian spent the morning visiting with family and close friends. Once she was ready, Sam made her way out of the resort and onto the gondola with her parents. On their way to the gondola, they passed mountain bikers and gorgeous flower gardens with a stunning display of vibrant colors. As the gondola ascended, the views became more and more spectacular, with the landscape stretching out for miles in every direction.
After arriving at the top, Sam walked arm in arm with her father as they walked together out to Explorer Express Overlook for the ceremony. Surrounded by wildflowers and panoramic mountain views, the guests were able to enjoy the fresh mountain air and soak in the natural beauty of the area, a special treat for those who were visiting.
Eian followed the traditional custom and waited to see Sam until she walked down the aisle, creating a special moment of anticipation and excitement for both of them as they prepared to exchange their vows. With family and friends gathered around, Eian’s dad officiated the ceremony and these two tied the knot in a short but sweet ceremony.
As the bride and groom walked down the aisle as newlyweds, their guests cheered and applauded, expressing their happiness for the newly married couple. After the ceremony, Sam & Eian made their way over to the lodge, where they were greeted by family and friends. Eian popped a bottle of champagne and guests raised their glasses to the couple and celebrated their union with well wishes on the deck of the lodge.
After mingling with guests, we took Sam and Eian out for portraits at Lunch Rock Overlook, which is a popular choice for obvious reasons and we were thrilled that Sam and Eian wanted to venture out there with us. As photographers, exploring new locations is an exciting experience and that discovery fuels our passion for capturing the beauty of the world around us. Every new location presents fresh inspiration with new opportunities, from finding the perfect lighting to discovering the best angles and perspectives. Needless to say, we had a blast exploring with these two.
